Thomas Crauwels discovered the Alps in 2009 when he settled in Switzerland and began learning photography while exploring the various Alpine regions.

Starting in 2012, he photographed mountains, primarily in black and white, just after storms, focusing particularly on those rising above 4,000 meters in altitude in the Valais Alps and the Bernese Alps.

In 2013, he completed the ascent of his first summit, Pigne de la Lé.

In 2014, he received the first photographic prize at the María Luisa Memorial.
